Abstract

This program explores the compositional impacts that Claude Debussy’s music has had on subsequent music written for the flute. The complete repertoire includes Claude Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, Telemann’s Fantasia No., Mel Bonis’s Flute Sonata, Philippe Gaubert’s Flute Sonata No. 2, and Henri Dutilleux’s Sonatine.
