Abstract

What does it mean to love within limitations when even love is a limitation? A collection of soulful lyrics, Verge works at the limits of learned love—maternal and sapphic affection, filial and romantic bonds, inherited and cultivated senses of self. This chapbook is my poetic sojourn through the natural and imagined worlds of Black womanhood, queer desire, and Southern tradition. Venturing beyond the bounds of what is known toward a cathartic unmaking, each poem verges on revolution.
