Abstract

How do anti-foreign protests affect international investors’ behavior and

responses? This paper discusses how anti-Chinese protests in Africa trigger

customized responses from Chinese investors, which leads to an increase in the supply

of public goods or services through social sphere aid in extractive FDI operation sites

that Chinese investors prioritize.
