Abstract

Cooper Green drops out of college after being sexually assaulted by her professor. She moves into her grandfather’s cabin on Millsite Lake, a wild and beautiful lake located in Upstate New York. Cooper desperately searches for ways to heal from her trauma while beginning to uncover past secrets of the family from which she has been estranged since childhood. Cooper balances her desire for solitude and connection as she attempts to integrate into Pine Grove’s community, finds her way back to her passion for museum curation, and fights her newfound fear of strangers.
