Abstract

This collection of poems is overwhelmed by the fraught realities of embodiment. The body – in relation to the self, to other bodies, to perceptions and narratives placed upon it – is ever present, as is the threat of violation. Concerns of the body intrude upon love and living. Nonetheless, there are hummingbirds, vertical trees, and dreams of horses.
